PreCODE & ReCODE

Precode & recode practitioner

2.0 Certified

At Colorado Concierge Functional Medicine we specialize in the Bredesen Protocol and Apollo Health’s ReCODE and PreCODE programs.  We love doing this work. Dr. Daniel LaPerriere, MD, has been using Dr. Bredesen’s research to treat clients with cognitive impairment and dementia since 2016 when he first read Dr. Bredesen’s groundbreaking MEND article. In 2017, Dr. Dan completed Dr. Bredesen’s Reversing Cognitive Decline Advanced Training Course and became a certified provider. He has since become a ReCODE 2.0 Certified practitioner.

It is our mission to help you succeed. Dr. Dan and Rachel Nkwocha (ReCODE 2.0 Certified health coach) help guide you (and your support person(s)) through the PreCODE and ReCODE programs. Success is highly reliant on you being fully invested in the program.

Dr Dan LaPerriere is licensed in multiple states and can obtain other state licenses if needed.

PreCode & ReCode

Who are these programs for?

The PreCODE program is for individuals who have no symptoms of cognitive decline but who want to institute a strategy to prevent dementia. Frequently this is a person who has a known genetic risk for Alzheimer’s disease such as a family history of Alzheimer’s or an ApoE4 gene.

The ReCODE program is for individuals who are manifesting cognitive problems and who want to stop and reverse this process. This person has either subjective cognitive impairment (SCI), mild cognitive impairment (MCI), or a diagnosis of dementia. The ReCODE program is much more intense than the PreCODE program and provides you with unlimited access to Dr. Dan and your health coach to help you implement the Bredesen Protocol and achieve optimal results.

START OF THE JOURNEY

Your ReCODE or PreCODE journey starts with a 45-minute consultation with Dr. Dan LaPerriere. The cost for this consultation is $100. During this consult Dr. Dan will perform a MoCA test (to determine your baseline cognitive status), assess your willingness to change, ability to stick with a regimented program, and potential obstacles to success, answer any questions you have about the program, and determine if you would be a good candidate to work us.

If you do sign up to work with this practice the $100 fee will go towards the cost of your annual program with COCFM.

specializing in PreCode and ReCode protocols for the prevention and treatment of cognitive decline.

For 7 years Dr. Dan was the medical director of a rural nursing home and was also the primary care provider for all of the residents there.  Many, if not most, of these residents suffered from dementia.  It was so sad to see these individuals who had lived amazing lives now have no recollection of their past and often not even be able to recognize their family members.

During this time Dr. Dan also had a member of his own family who developed a rapidly progressive dementia and passed away.  He saw first hand how devastating this was on his family and how helpless everyone felt.  As a medical provider one of the most frustrating and painful diagnoses to give a person and his/her family is that of Alzheimer’s dementia.  Up until recently, there was little he could do for this person and his/her family aside from offering emotional support.  The medications really do not work and often cause significant side effects.

In 2017 Dr. Dan heard about the work that Dr. Dale Bredesen was doing.  His functional medicine approach to dementia made such sense that Dr. Dan knew he needed to learn more about his research.  In that same year he was fortunate enough to attend one of Dr. Bredesen’s training seminars and become one of the earlier providers certified in the Bredesen protocol.  He has seen the development and changes in the program over the past 8 years, and has worked with many clients using the ReCode Program seeing great results.

This is a game changer.  Dr. Dan shares Dr. Bredesen’s mission to make Alzheimer’s dementia a disease of the past.

Dr. Dan is trained and proficient in Reversing type 2 diabetes, optimizing gut health and nutrition, treating chronic inflammation, supporting detoxification, treating thyroid disease, bioidentical hormone replacement therapy, treating and reversing cardiovascular disease, managing autoimmune illness, and addressing chronic infections. While not an expert in the treatment of more complex issues of mold toxicity and Lyme disease, Dr. Dan can diagnose and at least start treatment for most individuals struggling with these issues and refer for expert care if needed.
